Set of Italian glass tumblers with multicolour accents, 1970s

A set of Italian tumblers from the 1970s, crafted from clear glass with multicolored accents. The collection embodies the playful approach to color that defined Italian design during this period the vibrant elements do not follow a rigid pattern but instead bring spontaneity and individual character to a simple functional form.

The tumblers maintain a classic cylindrical silhouette with proportions suited to cold beverages. Transparent glass provides a neutral canvas against which the colorful accents stand out with clarity. The overall design remains clean and functional, free from ornamental complexity a modernist approach to everyday objects that prioritizes form without sacrificing visual appeal.

Italian glassmaking in the 1970s drew from two distinct traditions: the centuries-old Venetian craft and the postwar industrial design movement. While prestigious workshops focused on unique artistic pieces, thriving manufacturers elsewhere in Italy adapted this aesthetic sensibility for serial production. Colored and decorated glass became a hallmark of Italian design throughout the 1960s and 1970s — reflecting the optimism and fascination with modernity that characterized the era. Utilitarian objects were no longer anonymous necessities but expressions of their owners' lifestyle and taste.

Standing thirteen centimeters tall with an eight-centimeter diameter, these tumblers serve equally well for juices, lemonade, or cocktails. The set functions beautifully in daily use while also contributing color and Italian flair to any table setting.

Condition is good with no significant flaws. The glass retains its clarity, and the colorful decorations remain vivid.
