Danish Floor Lamp with Three Adjustable Arms, Metal Construction, 2000s

Description
Danish floor lamp with three independent arms, produced in the 2000s as a contemporary take on classic Scandinavian lighting solutions. The design combines practical functionality with the lightness of form characteristic of Danish design tradition, allowing light to be directed independently to different areas of a room.
The structure centres on a slender metal stem from which three flexible arms extend, each terminating in a conical shade. Every arm can be bent and positioned at the desired angle, enabling the user to create distinct lighting zones with a single fixture. The shades in three contrasting colours give the lamp a bold, almost sculptural presence, breaking the severity of the black base with a vibrant palette. A foot switch provides convenient daily operation without the need to reach down.
This lamp draws from the Danish lighting tradition that has long emphasised light quality and thoughtful distribution. Multi-arm constructions with adjustable light sources emerged in Scandinavia during the 1960s as a response to the need for flexible illumination in open-plan living spaces. This contemporary interpretation preserves the functionality of those earlier designs while introducing the chromatic boldness typical of turn-of-the-millennium aesthetics.
Three independent light points with standard E27 sockets work well beside a sofa, where one lamp can replace several light sources. The height of one hundred and forty centimetres positions the shades at a comfortable reading level, while the stable base with a diameter of twenty-six centimetres ensures security even when the arms are set asymmetrically.
The lamp is in good condition, showing scratches and wear marks on the metal elements — traces of use over the years that do not affect its functionality.
