Brass measuring cups set in Bauhaus style, European craftsmanship 20th century

A set of brass measuring cups whose form clearly reflects Bauhaus design principles. Five precisely crafted vessels of graduated sizes form a collection that unites practical function with geometric elegance. European craftsmanship of the twentieth century at its purest an everyday object elevated to the status of a design piece.

The construction relies on cylindrical cups fitted with long, straight handles that allow for comfortable scooping and precise measuring. Each cup maintains consistent proportions between diameter and height, lending the set visual coherence despite the variation in scale. The handles are positioned to enable nesting smaller measures fit inside larger ones, creating a compact arrangement that saves storage space. Brass provides both durability and a warm, golden tone throughout.

The Bauhaus philosophy visible in this set rejected the divide between art and functional object. Kitchen tools became testing grounds for designers seeking forms stripped of unnecessary ornament. The geometry of the cylinder and the straight handle embodies the principle that shape should follow function alone. Though articulated in interwar Germany, this approach shaped European utilitarian design for decades to come.

These measuring cups serve equally well in daily cooking and as a decorative accent in a thoughtfully arranged kitchen. The nesting design keeps the complete set within easy reach without claiming valuable counter space.

Condition is good. The set shows no significant flaws and remains fully functional.
