Description
A collectible Royal Copenhagen mug produced between approximately 1993 and 2006, made in Denmark.
A unique mug from the Danish manufacturer Royal Copenhagen – a company with a tradition dating back to 1775, regarded as one of Europe’s leading porcelain brands. This model stands out with a style entirely different from classic annual mugs – instead of relief decoration, it features a free-flowing, almost painterly illustration. The composition featuring a boat and a wave has a slightly narrative quality, reminiscent of a sketch or a book illustration, which gives the whole a more artistic, less ‘factory-made’ feel. The colour scheme – a clash of deep green, soft pink and intense red – creates a contrast typical of 1990s Scandinavian design, where a functional object begins to serve as a small painting. Unlike the classic Annual Mug series (produced annually in varying designs), this piece has a more limited, less repetitive character – closer to short runs or special projects.
Condition: preserved in its original state, may show minor signs of use.
