Description

The glass vase was made in the 1970s by the French manufacturer Luminarc. Designed by J.G. Durand. Windsor series.

A very striking, slender vase made of decorative glass, designed in France in the 1970s for Luminarc as part of the Windsor series (J.G. Durand). The transparent form, with its bold, rhythmic cut, creates a spectacular optical effect – light beautifully ‘refracts’ on the geometric angles, whilst the intensely pink, coloured core lends the whole piece exceptional depth and elegance. It is an object that resembles a modern sculpture: minimalist in shape, yet visually rich thanks to the craftsmanship of the glass. It works perfectly as a striking feature in mid-century modern, modern classic and Art Deco revival interiors, but also as a contrast in minimalist schemes. It looks best in a spot where it catches natural light – that’s when it reveals its full potential. A collector’s piece of French glass from the 1970s – elegant, ‘jewellery-like’ and exceptionally decorative.

Condition: preserved in its original condition; may have minor scratches and normal signs of wear.
