The front composition rests on a contrast between smooth framing and expressive panels. A single drawer at the top and a door below both feature burr wood inserts — cut from the gnarled root section of the trunk, where grain patterns swirl unpredictably. Lighter wood surrounds these inserts, channelling their organic energy into a calm, balanced structure. Gently curved feet lend the silhouette a touch of lightness, echoing classical furniture forms. A working lock secures the door, and the original key is included.

Danish cabinetmaking of the 1960s was celebrated for merging modernist restraint with time-honoured joinery techniques.
