Description
The ceramic vase was made in the 1960s in Germany.
A unique vintage German ceramic vase of the W. Germany type, featuring the highly decorative aesthetic of the 1960s and 1970s. The vessel has a compact, harmonious form with a gently tapering neck and a flared base, giving it the appearance of a small sculptural object. The most eye-catching feature is the striking decoration: a central band in shades of bronze and black with a rhythmic, undulating pattern (op-art / graphic motif), highlighted by thin, golden lines. The top and bottom are finished with a turquoise-blue glaze featuring an interesting, ‘cracked’ texture, which adds depth to the whole piece. It is the perfect accent for mid-century modern, retro, modern classic interiors, as well as eclectic schemes that favour bold patterns and contrasts. It looks great on its own, as a decoration on a chest of drawers or a shelf, but works just as well as a vase for a single branch or a minimalist bouquet. A collector’s item of West German ceramics – a bold pattern, great colour scheme and the characteristic design aesthetic of the era.
Condition: preserved in its original condition; may have minor scratches and normal signs of wear.
