Description
This ceramic vase was made in the 1960s in Germany.
A decorative ceramic vessel crafted in the distinctive Fat Lava style, one of the most recognisable trends in European artistic ceramics of the 1960s and 1970s. The body is covered in an intense red-orange glaze contrasting with the deep black of the porous surface. The strongly textured, almost volcanic structure of the glaze creates the effect of flowing lava – a feature typical of ceramics produced during this period in many European workshops. The simple cylindrical form, with two small indentations at the rim, gives the piece a sculptural character. The piece can serve as a small vase, a candleholder or a decorative bowl, providing a striking accent in a mid-century modern interior.
Condition: in its original condition; may have minor scratches and normal signs of wear.
