Description
This vase was made in the 1960s by the Danish manufacturer Søholm.
A small ceramic vase produced by Søholm Keramik on the island of Bornholm, one of the most renowned manufacturers of Scandinavian artistic ceramics. The form, with its low, wide body, is decorated with a hand-modelled relief featuring geometric and botanical motifs. The colour palette characteristic of Søholm – shades of blue, cream and earthy browns – emphasises the natural, organic character of the piece. The decoration was created using a layered glazing technique, which gives the surface a subtle depth and tonal variation. This type of design was typical of Danish design in the 1960s and 1970s, combining functionality with decorative form. The original signature is preserved on the base: Søholm Bornholm Denmark and model number 3638.
Condition: in its original condition; may have minor scratches and normal signs of wear.
